If you've purchased a polished or semi-polished porcelain, this may come as a surprise: your safest bet is to seal it! The process of polishing opens up micro-pores in the surface of the tile. While your tile will most likely not absorb dirt or oils, we still recommend playing it safe and protecting the finish of the tile. There are many sealers on the market which are suitable for porcelain tile ... please make sure the instructions to apply the sealer are followed with extreme care. (Note: if you're using colored grout, you should test the grout to make sure it's compatible and that it does not bleed into your tile’s surface.)
